SCHEDULED CITY ELECTIONS

When are City elections held?
The regular Phoenix elections for Mayor and City Council are held in August and November (Runoff) of odd-numbered years. Council member terms are staggered; therefore the next regular elections are as follows.

The Mayor and Council Members in Districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 will be elected in 2011.
Council Members in Districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 will be elected in 2013.

Special elections may be called by the City Council or as required by law. State law (A.R.S. § 16-204) permits special elections to be held on only four dates each year.

1. The second Tuesday in March
2. The third Tuesday in May
3. The tenth Tuesday before the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November
4. The first Tuesday after the first Monday in November
