Going Green!
It seems like everyone is getting on board with going “green”. Green is an environmentally friendly way to live in the world and there are literally hundreds of little things we can to every day to recycle, reuse, or re-gift.
Here in Phoenix, the entire Valley has gone green through a wonderful boost from Mother Nature. Winter rains have triggered a growth spurt of wild grasses and flowers. The mountains that ring the Valley are lush with Spring-growth and yards and vacant lots are knee high in pretty plants if they flower and noxious weeds if they don’t.
We usually enjoy Spring-like weather for a month if we are fortunate then the temperatures hit 90 degrees plus and all that lush green turns a crispy brown color providing fuel for Summer fires.
So lets all do the “green” thing. Get out the old push mower, manually operated hedge trimmers and rakes and clean the yard. If you are not ready to be that “green” use an electric mower and trimmer. Failing that, use what you have on hand but let’s clear away the fire fuels. A fire pours tons of pollutants in to the air. Not only is that not “green”, it really annoys Mother Nature and that is never wise.
Enjoy a safe, fire-free Spring!
